How to use?

Open After Effects:

  • Launch Adobe After Effects on your computer.

Create a New Composition:

  • Go to Composition > New Composition (or use the shortcut Ctrl + N / Cmd + N).
  • Set your desired composition settings (resolution, duration, etc.), and click OK.

Add a Text Layer:

  • Select the Text Tool from the toolbar (or press Ctrl + T / Cmd + T).
  • Click in the composition panel and type your desired text.
  • Adjust the font, size, and other text properties as needed in the Character panel.

Open the Text Layer:

  • In the Timeline panel, locate your text layer.
  • Click on the arrow next to the text layer to expand its properties.

Locate the Anchor Point:

  • Under the expanded properties, find the Transform section.
  • You will see options like Position, Scale, Rotation, and Anchor Point.

Add the Expression:

  • Hold down the Alt key (or Option key on Mac) and click on the stopwatch icon next to the Anchor Point property. This enables expressions for that property.
  • In the expression field that appears, paste your desired expression.

Finalize Your Animation:

  • Press Enter or click outside the expression field to apply the expression.
  • Preview your composition by pressing the Spacebar or clicking the Play button to see the effect of the expression on the anchor point.

Cheers!:

  • Your text layer is now animated according to the expression you’ve applied. You can adjust other properties as needed for further customization.
